Still curious? Drop us a line through the early-access form below.
Is the food safe to eat?
Yes. Fresh2Go only onboards formal food businesses operating under Zambian food-safety regulations. Suppliers retain ownership and liability up to the moment of pickup — same as any other sale from their counter.
How fresh is the food?
Most bundles are listed the same day they're collected. Suppliers set the pickup window themselves and only list food that's still well within shelf life.
How much do bundles cost?
It varies by bag, but expect up to 60% off the original retail price. Each listing shows the original price, the discounted price, and the discount percentage upfront.
What's a Surprise Bundle?
A bundle of same-day surplus food posted by a supplier — could be bread and pastries, dairy, prepared meals, dry goods, or fresh produce. The contents are described before you reserve.
Do I need a smartphone?
A modern phone or laptop is enough to reserve. The pilot will support an SMS-based pickup code for users who prefer it, but the core flow runs in the browser.
How does pickup work?
You reserve a bundle in the app, get a short pickup code, and collect at the supplier's counter within the defined window. Show your code. No cash changes hands at pickup — payment is processed in advance.
What if I miss my pickup window?
Unclaimed bundles expire at the end of the window. There's no penalty for the first miss, but repeat no-shows may affect your ability to reserve future bundles.
How is my payment handled?
Payments are processed centrally through approved digital channels — mobile money and card. Refunds and disputes go through Fresh2Go, not the supplier.
Will Fresh2Go come to my neighbourhood?
The 2026 pilot is bounded to the Great East Road corridor — East Park, Arcades, Manda Hill, PHI, Longacres. We expand based on evidence from that corridor, not before.
Is this a food bank or a charity?
Neither. Fresh2Go is a commercial marketplace. Suppliers earn revenue, buyers pay a fair price, and we earn a service commission on completed transactions. No donations, no charity-coded language.
